Grants Competitions

Proactive philanthropy allows the philanthropist to set targets and the conditions for the awarding of funds.

An insight for the design of high-impact philanthropy is realizing limited-knowledge.

Limited knowledge can be transcended by opening-up opportunities to many potentially interested parties, unknown to the philanthropist, via attractive wide-scale advertising of opportunities to win grants in open competition.

Competition attracts highly talented people.   It often brings out the best. Competition breeds excellence.

However, running grants competitions is not an easy task.  Nor is it easy to develop cost-effective methods for getting information widely circulated to the right types of people, in ways that attract their attention and interest in a world increasingly overflowing with a glut of information.

Charles Harper has extensive experience in designing, implementing, and overseeing philanthropic grants competitions.
